LANGUAGE EXPEDITIONS
Language Expeditions has been an idea in the making for years, but finally being realized through our experiences of living and working in South Korea. The idea is to blend the things that I’m passionate about in the same space: language, teaching, and travel. This blog will be a collection of thoughts, experiences, realizations, and challenges that I experience while abroad.
If you are following along with me on this journey, I am grateful and thank you for your time. There is a sort of vulnerability in expressing your thoughts and feelings to the world, but experiences are always more meaningful when shared with others. I hope that the things I share with you all in this blog can somehow bring you joy, perspective, or intrigue. The teacher in me always aims to make others think – really think – about the things that matter or that they don’t understand yet.
Let the expedition begin!

THE LAMPSTAND
The Lampstand has also been an idea that has evolved over the years. Inspired by Matthew 5:14-16, it started as an Instagram profile where I posted single Bible verses after creating images on Canva. Then it became a journal of my personal Bible Study. Now it also will find a home on the Language Expeditions website and continue as a journal that captures my walk with Christ during our time overseas.
One thing that my trip to China in 2015 taught me is that culturally different and Biblically incorrect are not the same thing. It took being outside of my own cultural bubble to realize this and see the aspects of my home culture that conflict with Biblical standards and principles. I know that our time in Korea will be full of spiritual growth, which is why I wanted to have this space to express that along with the other exciting experiences we will have. I hope that what is shared here helps you to see God move in unique ways in a completely different part of the world!
